Leading Hand (Overhead Lines)

Balfour Beatty Power Transmission and Distribution is hiring a permanent leading hand for overhead lines, based in Dundee, working across Scotland and on wider UK projects. The leading hand supports the foreman and takes charge when they are absent, running a gang of four to six OHL technicians on the build and maintenance of high-voltage overhead lines: planning and briefing the work, ordering kit and materials, delivering toolbox talks and setting up earthing and catenary systems. Tasks include running out conductors, clamping, jumpering, spacering, jointing and replacing fibre optic earthwire.

• Full clean driving licence
• Knowledge of the power industry and experience on varied construction projects
• Comfortable working at height
• Willing to travel and work across the UK
• Plant tickets, OHL authorisations and first aid are an advantage
