Operative

Ringway is hiring an operative for its NH East business unit, based in Bishops Stortford, Hertfordshire. The operative carries out routine and cyclical highway works, can run a two-person crew on set jobs and deputises for the chargehand, managing team safety and completing paper or electronic reports. Emergency and out-of-hours call-outs and winter maintenance are part of the role.

• Typically 18 months or more of experience, with NVQ Level 2
• LGV licence
• Able to take charge of traffic management and basic safety, quality and environmental audits
• Desirable: banksman, abrasive wheels, emergency first aid, Safe Dig, NRSWA and TM 12D
• CSCS card where the client requires it

Pay and benefits: permanent, full time, 40 hours a week, Monday to Friday.
