Operative

Ringway is hiring a permanent operative in Bristol for its NH South West business unit. Working with a chargehand, the operative carries out general highway maintenance and routine and cyclical works, joins out-of-hours emergency rotas and helps with winter maintenance as second man or driver's mate. The grade typically suits someone with 12 months or more of experience and includes apprentices who have completed their training.

• Driving licence
• Able to use small plant and operate a mini excavator
• Training in health and safety, risk assessment and traffic management
• Interest in gaining an LGV licence
• Desirable: banksman, manual handling, abrasive wheels, emergency first aid and Safe Dig

Pay and benefits: full time, 39 hours a week, Monday to Friday.
