Highways Maintenance Operative

Kier is hiring a highways maintenance operative for its Birmingham highways team, based at B7 5HR. The operative handles reactive, emergency and improvement work across the Birmingham network: responding to incidents within set times and working with the emergency services to keep disruption down, carrying out routine maintenance and repairs with plant and equipment, keeping kit secure, and logging work on digital systems.

• Full driving licence
• Street works qualifications, units 1 to 9
• Able to work under pressure in a safety-critical role, in a team or with minimal supervision
• No visa sponsorship available

Pay and benefits: £28,000 to £33,000 depending on experience, plus call-out, overtime and standby. Permanent and full-time. Pension, life assurance, holiday purchase, share plans, enhanced family leave and free health and wellbeing services.
